One of my favorite genres are trashy romance novels that make you smile. I’m always looking for new writers and book titles that are both funny and trashy romance. And recently I found a great new romance novel writer that I love. I’ve been reading all her trashy romance novels, and I thought I would share!

Trashy Romance Novels That Make You Smile

Her name is Alice Goldbreath and I’ve been reading Her Baseborn Bridegroom, A Bride for the Prizefighter and the Unlovely Bride. Alice Goldbreath shows she knows people, and what makes them tick. She pours this into her characters making them relatable and oftentimes very funny. I’ve been having a great time reading her books, and sometimes even laughed out loud. It’s not that the stories are groundbreaking, but that doesn’t matter. The way Alice Goldbreath tells them makes them worth reading.

Who is Alice Coldbreath

Alice Coldbreath is a British author best known for her historical romance novels, often set in the medieval or Victorian era. She grew up in a small English village and describes herself as someone who spends a lot of time daydreaming about ‘medieval warlords and lively heroines.’ In her everyday life, she enjoys gardening, reading, and watching cozy mystery series. Her stories always promise a happily-ever-after, no cheating between the main characters, and self-contained plots that don’t end on cliffhangers.

Coldbreath’s most popular series include:

  • The Vawdrey Brothers which features medieval lords and arranged marriages.
  • Brides of Karadok, a blend of medieval and fantasy romance.
  • The Victorian Prizefighters, set in 19th-century England and centered on strong heroines and working-class heroes like boxers.

Most of these books include explicit romantic scenes.

Summing up

If you like trashy romance novels with gentle heroines and tortured heroes that make you smile, you might enjoy Alice Colbreath’s books.
